IP address not found message

     Hi Everyone,
   
       On one of the alphas here, Dec 2000 running DEC OSF/1 V3.2A
   I have noticed that suddenly on the console and the daemon
   logs that the error message
       IP address not found: 142.55.115.123
       There are literally hundreds of there messages scroll the
   console . (I did a count on yesterdays log -3000 messages)
  The above is just an example of one of the
   IP this host is trying to resolve....
   These IP's belong to other nodes that should be answering these
   bootp requests, yet still this particular host is attempting to resolve
   these IP addresses. Can anyone point me to the right direction here
   This is really annoying to see these messages constantly scrolling off
the screen . Reboots do not send them away. No other hosts is doing this
Can someone offer some advice on this
