        [Summary: Using a DE450 w/DU 3.2D-2]

        My original post was regarding a problem I was having with using

a DE450 in an Alpha 400. At the time I was able to use the twisted pair port,

but not the BNC port.

        When attempting to use the BNC port, the console variable for the

card was set to BNC and the system did correctly select BNC at boot, but

I was receiving a "no carrier" message.

        Everyone had valid suggestions. Rajul was kind enough to provide some

advanced troubleshooting techniques to better define the problem. In the end,

however, it appears as though I had a bad cable.
