Will Digital Unix 4.0 ever be released???

Can anybody come up with the true story here?

Marketing claims that 4.0 has been shipping since March 28 (See page 16
of the April Customer Update.)

A couple of folks on the Alpha Managers list have indicated that they have
received it through their normal subscriptions.

I just had my contracts administrator (the Digital body handeling our
maintenance contract) check with Software Distribution to find out when we
can expect it and she was told it has been slipped until June, and that
they had no idea when it would begin shipping.

We have a lot of systems work to perform between now and 1 August when the
first Graduate Students return. We've got our 5th 2100 coming in and
expected to be able to do some work with clustering, and trying to figure
out how to make NSR "work for us."

Not being able to even begin testing the new relase, let alone
interoperabilty issues with local software and layered products is making a
lot of people talk about sitting around enjoying the "Sun" instead of
working on DEC this summer...

We need to make a decision by Memorial Day (which, as luck would have it
everybody took to be May 31th) on what our summer work schedule is going to
be... are we going to wait for 4.0 or simply stick with 3.2C or upgrade to
3.2D. And then we have to tell applications WHEN they can begin testing,
and support when they can begin testing and writing.
