Looking for options for Oracle backups -- need fast recovery (less than
4 hours) from any database trauma.

Environment:
 Oracle 7.1.6.2
DEC Unix 3.2c on 2100A Alpha with 1GB memory
Oracle apps (AP PO GL OE IN)
 15 GB of data (RAID'ed)
 advfs
 24x7 availability needed
 can add more disks
 can add another system box

Full export/import-upon-disaster is not an option -- import takes
too long. Objective is to recover -- in 4 hours or less -- from any fault
which makes the database unavailable.

Experiences with Oracle hot backups, redundant systems (e.g. symmetric
replication) appreciated. I can't see how to do this without adding
a second machine !!!

Thanks for your feedback.
