The answer was, that it is possible and qualified by DEC to use RZ29 disk with SWXCR RAID. Minimum fimware rev. 0014 of the disks and newest for the SWXCR. But you have to pay attention to the heat (cooling and 2nd power supply necessary in 2100).
It is even possible to mix disks (RZ28 RZ29 ..), but when using in one logical drive you loose lots of space. Tip: Only use one kind of disks in one logical drive to avoid trouble.
Here's an example (a particulary wasteful one at that):
RAID-5 with 4 RZ29s and 1 RZ26 = 4GB usable space
Better off to do:
1 RZ26 JBOD = 1 GB
+ 4 RZ29 RAID-5 = 12 GB
