Suggestion were:
1)
Replaced all occurences of long to int and u_long to u_int(global
search and replace!)
Added || defined(__alpha) to line 140 of namser.h
Copied dig to /usr/local/bin and dig.1 to /usr/local/man/man1
and
2)
dig is now part of the BIND distribution. Find it at ftp.vix.com in
pub/bind/release.
