syslogd messages and FDDI

Hi,

I have problems with DEC FDDI PCI-Controllers DEFPA-UA located in
Alpha Stations 200 4/166, running DEC UNIX 3.2 .In order to observe the behaviour of the Systems (MAC
ERRORS, RING unavailable etc.),
I tried to send all the kernel messages to a dedicated Alpha Station
(_at_remotehost).

My approach is:

/etc/syslog.conf
+----------------
 1) kern.debug<tab>_at_remotehost
 2) kern.debug<tab>/var/adm/messages
 3) user.debug<tab>_at_remotehost
 4) user.debug<tab>/var/adm/messages

2),3),4) are working great, 1) isn't at all !

Any Ideas about the syslog or the FDDI problem ?

Thanks, Roger
