NFS and symbolic links questions

I'm using Netware-NFS to export a Novell FileSystem that I have to use with
my alphas as NFS clients.

I tried to add a symbolic link (with UNIX) in a directory of the exported
file system and hoped that I would see the new "branch" from DOS/Windows but
that does not seem to work. Is this because UNIX is acting as the CLIENT ?

The owner of the link is "root daemon". Is it normal that I can't change
its UID og GID ? Maybe I can't read it from DOS/Windows because it's not
belonging to the proper group and I can't change it...

My questions:

1) Is such behavior normal ?
2) What is the proper way to use links in an NFS environment ? I would like
to minimize the mount points and give access to a LOT of stuff on my UNIX
machine. Assume the same question in an environment where my UNIX system
would be EXPORTING a file system.

                                THANKS !
