I'm running Samba 1.9.15p8 on an AlphaStation 200 4/233 with DUnix
3.2c. Also running "top" which shows the "nmbd" process at or near
the top in terms of CPU utilization, with anywhere from 1-10% CPU,
frequently more than our Oracle DB server when it's idle. Is this
normal? Are there configuration settings I should check/tune?
We have a number of WinNT domains on our network, and I have Samba
"advertise" itself as participating in 2 of them (one typically has
several hundred online clients) as well as having its own, but there
usually only 5-10 active connections to this server.
TIA,
