I just upgraded an SGI IRIX machine to irix 5.3 and it is a an nfs server.

We have alpha 8200server running DX3.2c. It automounts the nfs disks
and since the upgrade it trying to use nfs3 protocal. $mount shows
  sdssdp1:/export/data/dp1.1 on /tmp_mnt/data/dp1.1 type nfs (v3, rw,
nosuid, soft, intr, timeo=10)

nfs3 is not even installed on the irix server.

Is there some way to force the DX client to use nfs3?

Any idea which machine has the buggy software - both?

How does the client mount (automount) decide which protocol to use?

Thnaks, will sum.
