HELP: Upgrading 2100 etehrnet card to 100Mbits

Hi,

I will soon upgrade my alpha server 2100 with 100Mb/s fast ethernet cards.
The servers actually use built-in multi-io cards with 10m/s.

I have several questions concerning the upgrade:

1) Do I have to disable the actual ethernet cards ? If so, how do I do this ?
2) Do I have to rebuild the kernel ? Or would netsetup suffice ?
3) Can I use both cards in the same machine ? Will I have 2 IP address for the
same host ?
