Dear managers,
we have to upgrade our Dec Alpha 400 running a fairly old
OSF1 3.0B to something more recent (at least DUNIX 3.2) because our system
seems to be incompatible with the newly acquired rz28d disk.
Are there any personal experiences with DUNIX 4.0 or
should we stick with 3.2 or 3.5?
Also, do you know the space requirements for an upgrade to version XXX?
The machine is mostly used for:
departmental mailserver, www-server ncsa httpd,
X-server for 2-4 NCD-Terminals,
C-programming and debugging, simulations using those C-programs,
Mathematica 2.2.
I guess the above list shows that we shouldn't be too adventurous,
but I assume that new version have also new features and not only bugs.
Peter
