Hello Managers -
We have the Netscape Commerce Server running on an Alpha 2100, with 14
virtual servers, and we are starting to use http password authorizations
very frequently.
Last week, when I created a new database, my user database admin screens
started core dumping. I then spent an hour on the phone with Netscape
support, and they verified that it was a problem.
A few days later I got the dreaded E-mail message:
"This is a known problem - server administrators write scripts to update
their databases."
They have not told me whether their commerce server has the same
limitation.
( Could you imagine an intranet on a big Unix box with less than 16 user
databases?)
Server managers: Can anyone help me find those scripts that people have
already written?
I'm aware of the 1 script that Netscape supplies in C to change
passwords. I expect to use it as the basis for my perl scripts. Running
it from the command line core dumps - this is not a good sign.
I will summarize, and if there's enough interest, I'll put them up on my
server.
I would be most grateful.

P.S. Netscape server tip of the day - big log files play havoc on DU UBC
buffers - rotate them frquently!
