boot hangs after isacfg

Hello managers:
To start I'm running DU 3.2d on an Alphastation 200 4/100. Other
info is available if needed. I am in the process of developing a
device driver for an ISA bus card. My problem occurred during my first
attempt to install the card. I ran isacfg from the >>> prompt as follows:

isacfg -slot 0 -dev 6 -mk -etyp 1 -enadev 1 -irq0 10 -iobase0 3b0 -totdev 7

Running isacfg -all showed that my reconfiguration seemed correct. I then
ran init. I then powered down the machine and plugged in the card. After
power up I ran >>> boot. It seemed to come up okay with the following
messages:
.
[some messages deleted]
.
isa0 at pci0
gpc0 at isa0
ace0 at isa0
lp1 at isa0
fdi0 at isa0
fd0 at fdi0 unit0

Here it gets stuck. Nothing else ever happens. I tried cycling power
and unconfiguring the card with isacfg, and boot acted the same. I
removed the card from the slot, same thing. So now I'm back to what
I think is square one, but I can't boot my machine.

A few notes:
   1. Since my driver is a loadable one, I did not rebuild the kernel. I
was planning on using sysconfig to load my "bare bones" first crack
at the driver. Perhaps this was part of my problem, trying to boot the
system with a board in it that had no driver loaded. Of course I would
think that unconfiguring and removing the card would solve the problem.
   2. I had put the card in the bottom ISA slot. I later read that the
bottom ISA slot only takes half-sized ISA cards.

Although our free Digital support has expired, I am stuck until I get this
fixed, so I may be forced to buy support. Any help I could get before then
would be much appreciated. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Mike
