Question: Changing drive ID on advfs file set ...

I have an AXP1000 which is running split bus mode right now. However,
in order to utilize the extra slots we have on the BA350, Digital said
I have to change it to serial bus mode. We are running ADVFS right
now.

Question is, after changing to split bus mode, which will also mean
changes to the device numbers, do I
1. just change the softlink to the drive ID under
/etc/fdmns/{domainname} to point to the new ID number or
2. have to perform a full restore of the file system or
3. need to adjust some other files ?
