Greetings. I've been trying to find the "monitor" utility for Digital
Unix. (This is a utility that traverses kernel data structures and reports
detailed information about the state of the system and individual
processes. It is similar to the MONITOR utility that comes with VMS.) I
find no mention of it in the FAQ for this list, but DEC does have a pointer
to it in the "Archives and Freely Available Software" section of their home
page:

Description: Curses based performance monitor and data
                collection utility.

I retrieved this file and uncompressed it, but I don't know what to do with
the resulting file. It appears to contain the makefile and the source
files with some sort of "wrapper":
    % file monitor.alpha
    monitor.alpha: commands text
Here's the first part of the file:
% more monitor.alpha
