Hello,
I've recently migrated CAP 6.0 patch level 194 on an Ultrix 4.4 box to CAP 6.0
patch level 197 running on Digital Unix 4.0 with enhanced security with
mixed success.
. "lwsrv8" works fine, spooling to two Printserver 17 printers
. "papif/papof" works fine, spooling to various appletalk printers
But I'm having problems with "aufs" - the parent process runs and the file
server
appears in the server, username/password validated but the child process
seems to terminate. Here's a clip from the aufs.log. The other thing to note
is that when you
start "aufs" with the AFP debug flag "-a ALL" the file share works correctly
and the user can access his files.

I've compiled CAP with the following features:
LWSRV_LPR_LOG
TREL_TIMEOUT
USE_HOST_ICON
PERMISSIVE_USER_NAME
DIGITAL_UNIX_SECURITY
AUFS_README
AUFS_IDLE_TIMEOUT
REREAD_AFPVOLS
CREATE_AFPVOL=\"mac\"
PID_FILE=\"aufs.pid\"
CLOSE_LOG_SIG=SIGUSR2
LOG_WTMP
NETWORKTRASH
LPRARGS
DOCNAME
TEMPFILE=\"/usr/tmp/lwsrvXXXXXX\"
I've tried compiling this on a DU3.2 system with enhanced security and it worked
fine after I changed 'DIGITAL_UNIX_SECURITY' to 'OSF1_SECURITY'. So I tried this
option on DU4.0 and still had the same problem.
I image I've missed something obvious, if anyone has any suggestions I'd sure
like to hear them. Has anyone got CAP60 to work successfully with DU4.0 with
enhanced security?
Thanks,
John
