Literal IP's don't work for rlogin!!

It's me again,
  I have an interesting problem this time.(at least I hope) Whenever I
try to use a literal IP (Ex. 255.255.255.255, not foo.bar.us.gov) in
rlogin, it says:

% rlogin 205.215.38.2
205.215.38.2: Unknown host

Any thoughts?
