Hi managers,
sorry to bother you again (still exploring v4.0 ;-)
When I came to my office this morning the system didn't let me do
anything (maxuprc exceeded). I found that there were some 100+ comsat's
running for me (I'm glad that I ran into that problem before our users
did ;-). I'm used to the behaviour of uncontrolled spawning (or sticky)
comsat's. In version 2.0a the only solution was to disable comsat in
/etc/inetd.conf. Well, after upgrading to v4.0 I dared to enable it
again (because shell notification doesn't work asynchronously).
I disabled it again, restarted inetd and killed all the comsat's in
a shell loop (version 2.0 paniced here, v4.0 did the job :-).
I wonder if there is a patch meanwhile that addresses the problem.
Thanks
Steffen.
