How to install EXB-820 tape drv on 3000/300(OSF 3.0B)?

Hello all,

        I've connected EXB-820(somewhat old?) tape drv to DEC3000/300(OSF 3.0B),and MAKEDEV tz6. But it didn't work. With error msgs:

>tar -tvf /dev/rmt0h
tar: [offset 0]: No space left on device

And

>file /dev/rmt*
rmt0a: character special (9/6150) SCSI #0 TZK08 tape #48 (SCSI ID #6) unspecified density
rmt0h: character special (9/6146) SCSI #0 TZK08 tape #48 (SCSI ID #6) unspecified density
rmt0l: character special (9/6144) SCSI #0 TZK08 tape #48 (SCSI ID #6) unspecified density
rmt0m: character special (9/6148) SCSI #0 TZK08 tape #48 (SCSI ID #6) unspecified density

Can anyone point me how to install it?
