Hi,

The AlphaStation 500 comes with a parallel port which I like to use for al local
printer (Hewlett Packard LaserJet IIP).
The operating system is Digital Unix 3.2d.
Question: Which device is associated with the parallel port?
There are /dev/lp0 and /dev/printer set up by the system, none seems to work
as is, when used in printcap.
The printer worked with this printcap from a serial port (lp=/dev/tty00 on an Alpha 3000).

lp0|lp|0|local line printer:\
        :br#19200:\
        :ct=dev:\
        :fc#0177777:\
        :if=/usr/lbin/ln03rof:\
        :fs#06320:\
        :lf=/usr/adm/lpd-errs:\
        :lp=/dev/??????:\
        :mc#20:\
        :mx#0:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/lpd/lpd0:\
        :of=/usr/lbin/ln03rof:\
        :pw#80:\
        :pl#66:\
        :sh:\
        :xc#0177777:\
        :xs#044000:

Thanks in advance.
