About stripesets, bad blocks and how to find the bad disk

Hi
I have an SW800, with 36 RZ28D's, divided in 12 stripsets with 4
HSZ40's. Actually, we're getting some "software recoverable errors"
regarding one of these stripsets.
Since this configuration involves stripsets, we have no way to know
which of the physical disks is actually failing, as long as, since the
point of view of the HSZ40, "there are no problems".
We have a long list of bad block numbers, and we're trying to figure out
some formula which would led us to determine where exactly the problem
is.
The stripe size (HSZ40) is 256 blocks, and the the disks are 2 GB
RZ28D-VW.
We've tried dividing the bad block number by 256, and by (256x512
bytes), but we always get a non integer number.
Presumably, we'd have to wait until the disk will definitely go offline
to find it (that's not our idea).

Any hints or clues ??
TIA
