Dear All,

It has just come to my notice that pop clients can send mail via the mail server
without the need to supply a password. This means that anyone can send mail from
a pop client (i.e. Eudora) with someone elses name. We are currently using POP3
Server (pop3d) Release 6 on an Alpha 3000/300x (DU 3.2c).

If anyone has information about how to set the popd to require authentication
before a client can send mail or to disable sending mail before a users has
been authenticated would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Martin.
