Hi Managers,
      My earlier question was:

I've got partial answers to my problems:

But NOT both standard files (/etc/passwd, NIS,..) and extra file
(/etc/popauth)
Each user's uid in the extra file must exist in the passwd file.
=> Not easy to create a new pop user.

Not tested

Adduser perl script is avalaible at
ftp://alpha.pr1.k12.co.us/pub/mkuser/mkuser.pl

Maybe it works with another local mail deliver (procmail) ?

srb_at_cuci.nl (Stephen R. van den Berg) have made a new pop server,
cucipop,
which will be available on demand or on:
ftp://ftp.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/packages/cucipop/cucipop.tar.gz
README extract:
> The Cubic Circle POP3 daemon. (v1.06 1996/08/19)
>
> A fast and robust implementation of the RFC1939 POP3 protocol.
> It supports both BSD-type and SysV-type mailbox formats.
> Cucipop assumes that the mailbox it serves is not simultaneously
> accessed by a mailreader. Concurrency and locking issues are handled
> graciously if they restrict themselves to the mail delivery agent
> (in case you were still looking for a fast and robust one, have a look
> at procmail :-).
>
> Cucipop can run standalone (preferred, if you have a lot of readers) or
> can be started from inetd.
