Dear Sheryl,
You didn't mention which version of DU you are using, but if
you are running v4.0, there is an option to do this in the Account
Manager. Select the account, then choose "Security". One of the
screens ("Password Controls", I think; I'm not in the root account so
I can't check it easily) has a check box for pre-expiring passwords.

My solution to this was to write a small shell (I called it "nush"
for new user shell) that I set as the new account shell. This shell
only allows one action: the user can set a new password. Once he
does that, it then runs chsh to change the user's shell to a normal
one (I use csh). Let me know if you want the source code to this
program of mine.

Afternoon gurus!
When creating a new account, is there a way to pre-expire the password so an
account needs to have a password set as soon as login occurs?
If so, does it work with Enhanced Security as well?
