Hello all,

A quick summary of my original post:

>>After a power failure, on rebooting our DEC3000/700 system, we see
>>"cdisk_op_spin" messages for drive rz1 (a Seagate 2GB Barracuda
>>ST32550N). Of course, the drive is un-mountable. Is it time to replace
>>the disk, or can something be done using scu? I append the full set of
>>bootup messages below.

Thanks to the following for their replies:

"Steven L. Jenkins" <sjenkins_at_iastate.edu>
"Harinder Singh" <singhh_at_vrinet.com>
Jean-Loup.Risler_at_genetique.uvsq.fr (Jean-Loup Risler)

The answer - the disk is going to meet its Maker. Definitely an
unrecoverable hardware problem.

Best regards,

--Sanjoy
