Many thanks for the normal (yet still amazing) fast responses.

I am using the the simple alias method given in Paul Casteels' and Scott
Howard's solutions and will keep "deliver" and "procmail" in mind for
future use.

Thanks again

Dave

how about a mail alias which points to your account ie:

list-user: dgreenbe

I use the "deliver" package available from all good software archive
servers for just that purpose. You have to write a shell or perl-script to
key on the from or to address to discriminate and then it will file into
another folder as you instruct it. There are other mail filters such as
"procmail" too which I believe have similar functionality.

You can set up an alias for this purpose.
Edit /var/adm/sendmail/aliases and do : sendmail -bi.

From: Scott Howard <scott_at_hunterlink.net.au>

Put something like the following in your **/etc/aliases** file:
                       **should be var/adm/sendmail/aliases**
new-mailbox-name:"|cat>/home/name/Mail/mailbox"

Two other options are to just subscribe yourself to the list, and use a
filter program to sort the mail into multiple mailboxes, or to use an alias
like the above to send the mail to a program to forward the mail into a
local newsgroup.

We use all three of these here (for different circumstances) with a high
level of sucess for each.

I recomend you to install procmail instead. It makes life much more easier
when you are on several mailinglists. It automatcally puts your mail in
different folders, depending on the rules you setup.
