How do I get disk to behave for LSM addition

I have a disk that worked fine on 1 Alpha with DUX 3.2C with ufs on it. NowI
have drive (seagate 2GB SE SCSI) on another Dec box at a uniq SCSI id and I am
trying to add it to LSM. I keep getting bad character in name errors. I even
used disklabel and zeroed label and rewrote it with a new definition I put in
disktab. I still can not define or init drive in LSM GUI or voldiskadd it.
