NFS troubles with DU-4.0

dear managers,

Platform: OSF1 V4.0 386 alpha

we are experiencing some strange NFS problems since we upgraded our
main file server to 4.0.

our NFS clients (using automount maps from NIS) report something like this:

# mount server:/soft5/ncd /mnt

mount: server:/soft5/ncd server not responding: Timed out
mount: retrying
   /mnt

we have all kind of NFS clients, but the most problematic ones are SunOS boxes.
we found that kill/restart "mountd" makes the problem go away, but some NFS
clients never recovered (reboot was needed).
this wasn't happening before the upgrade. is there anybody outhere having
any problems with DU-4.0 NFS ?
our other fileservers on the same network (DU-3.2, Solaris ..) seems to
be ok.

thank you
