Memory limit for each user on DU3.2c

We have a 2100/275 System with Du 3.2c. What parameter determines the memory lim
it for each user. We have a problem when a process is run by normal user it cras
hes with a core dump, but where as it works if it is run as root. We suspect it
could be a virtual memory allocation or something. Does any one know a solution?
