Hey gurus,
I'm trying to setup a callback modem on out alpha 3000-300 system.
I did run into some problems...
1) Where do I find the device for the modem (the printer/modem port on
the back of the machine). Is it /dev/tty00 or is it something else?
2) I tried to use that tty, but Iwasn't able to dialout. I used following
lines in the tip configuration (I never used tip befre, so it might be
wrong):
mine:dv=/dev/tty00:pn=2403955:pa=none:br#1200:at=hayes:\
el=^U^C^R^O^D^S^Q_at_:ie=#%$:oe=^D:du
When usin tip mine , I never see the modem changing its status, nor do I
hear it dialling any number.
3) I did a file /dev/tty and noticed following thing:
/dev/tty00: character special (24/2) VS_SLU #0 terminal #2 modem_control off
Is the modem_control off ok? I guess it shoud be something else... Do I
have to MAKEDEV it with some paramters?
Any help is greatly appreciated...
