Thanks for all the response to my earlier message
Some wrote and suggested that I check the installation manuals
for recovery procedures. The manuals don't really explain in
detail what has to be done, they take it for granted that you
have experience in doing this type of thing.

Has anyone out there ever had to recover a crashed ALpha 1000 and recorded
what they did.
If so will you bless me with the step-by-step recovery technique.
I have a full "dump" backup of / and all file systems. I also
have an "identical twin" Alpha 1000 sitting next to the one that crashed (
same OS,same disks, same memory, same paritions, same disklables, same ufs,
same everything)

I logged a call with Digital Software Support earlier, expecting to here
from them soon.

Thanks
Paul

the crash, do I need to reload the DecOSF v3.2 and then restore the system
tape or is there a way to restore from the SRM console.?
