RIS can't find "getname"/host names

Hi. I'm trying to set up RIS for network upgrades to DU 4.0. However,
specifying `a) ADD a client' produces something like
  /usr/sbin/ris: getname: not found
  "krypton" is an invalid hostname.
for any valid hostname. (For an invalid hostname, it produces
something like `arp failed on hostname "x"')

I did a `find', and the only getname I found was in /var/adm/dms/bin.
Adding it to my $PATH didn't do anything, and looking at the ris script
itself I see that it explicitly sets the path. It puts
/usr/var/adm/ris in the path, but I don't have one. Presumably I
should. (I've got a separate filesystem for ris, but I'm pretty sure I
checked and /var/adm/ris didn't have anything before I replaced it.)

Anyway, (1) anybody know what's wrong and/or how to fix it? :-) To be
more specific, (2) is there something besides
`Network-Server/Communications' I needed to install in order to run
RIS, and/or (2) if I did in fact clobber my RIS installation, what do I
need to reinstall to get the contents of /var/adm/ris back?

Thanks,

Jay Sekora
