We have a home grown X Motif application running on a couple of boxes
(including non DEC) that is misbehaving when run on one DEC machine but
viewed on another (AlphaStation 200 4/166). The application is viewed
fine on other servers (an X terminal and a 486 running linux). The same
application compiled and run on a SGI box can be viewed on the
AlphaStation that causes the application to bomb when executed on itself
or the other DEC. It fails with the following message:
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for
operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 7208
Current serial number in output stream: 7213
A local guru suggested the DEC Xserver code must be buggy on the
AlphaStation, but we need a better handle on it than that.
Anybody else seen the problem before? have any clues, solutions, work-arounds?
Will summarize
Dave
