I just joined this list; pardon me if I'm asking questions which have
been asked a bajillion times before, but...
1. Is there a FAQ for this group?
2. Is there an archive for this list?
(Now the important question)
3. I recently was given an Alpha 255 (300Mhz) workstation. I'm running
CDE on it. While playing the other day I was testing the sample desk-
top backgrounds, and noticed that two specific backgrounds (both
"inlaid") when selected crash the machine [!] with a "Machine check".
Anyone else see this? I'm working on calling DEC about it, but the
box was procured by Boeing procurement people who have a problem
divulging support phone number information [or answering the phone
in general, but I'm not bitter... :-)] so I've not been able to do
so yet.
