Once again, the list comes thru!

My original question:

A number of tidbits of info were forwarded to me:

1. The default swap/paging area is the one pointed to by the the symbolic
link /sbin/swapdefault. This can be changed to point elsewhere. As well,
the presence of this link puts the paging system into "conservative mode"
while the absence of the links puts it into "overcommitment mode".
2. Change the fstab entry for swap1 to point elsewhere.
3. Change entries in /etc/rc.config (PAGERAW, PAGEFILE, PARTITION &
PARTITIONTYPE).s
4. Of course, one can also change the config line from the kernel config
file.
5. The system does not dump ALL of physical memory into a crash dump; 128MB
should be enough for 1 GB of memory.
6. V4.0 may have added support for dumping across all available swap/paging
areas. Can anyone confirm this?

I've decided to leave the system with the default swap area as 128 MB (on
the system disc) - refer to point #5. I'll see how it goes from here.
