Hi,
This morning, a fellow administrator asked me a question and I was not able
to give him a definitive answer. I have my ideas about this but I wanted to
make sure I was OK.
The question:
What do you do if a disk which is part of a 3 disks Advfs domain crashes ?
My answer:
You have to replace the disk, and then recreate the file domain, with the
two remaining devices, add the new disk, recreate the filesets and restore
the filesets from the last available convenient backup.
Do I really have to "recreate" the file domain and filesets or can I keep
the links in /etc/fdmns (Provided I use the same physical disk emplacements ?)
2nd question:
When you create a filedomain, or add a disk to an existing filedomain, what
happens if:
1) The disk has NO label ?
2) The disk has an UFS label ?
Thanks !
