Original question:
Hi,
I'm trying to setup 2 monitors on one Alpha Station 200 4/166. The first
one is using tga0 (1280 x 1024 - PBXGA-AA) and the second is using one
ATI Mach64 vga0 (1024 x 768 by Default). I must set the second
controller resolution to 640x480 and use it as a xterm.
Does anybody tried that before? I mean, how to setup the resolution on
the ATI Mach64 by software?
I appreciate any help and I'll summarize.

---------I've never run two heads, but I think you need a line in
/var/X11/xdm/Xservers like:
:0 local /usr/bin/X11/X -nice -2 -screen1 640
See the DEC user guide for the Mach64 (if you have one).
I believe this line has also appeared in the release notes, although it
will only talk about -screen0 resolution.
