cannot alias non-local names

Hi,

   Using the standard DU3.2D sendmail, we have three entries in the
aliases file which wont get accepted.

majordomo:"|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
owner-majordomo:support_at_dmu.ac.uk
majordomo-owner:support_at_dmu.ac.uk

# newaliases
/var/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 29: cannot alias non-local names
/var/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 30: cannot alias non-local names
/var/adm/sendmail/aliases: line 31: cannot alias non-local names

Any idea what this error message means ? We have tried aliasing it..
owner-majordomo:support

and various other usernames. Help much appreciated.
