A few months ago I saw a recommendation for tuning a kernel
networking parameter to improve web server response time on Alphas
running digital unix. Now that I need to do just that (netstat -a is
showing too many FIN_WAIT_2 states) I can't find the reference that
I thought I had saved. Can someone please point me to it again?
I think the recommendation may have come from a webmaster
at digital speaking about how altavista is tuned, but couldn't find
it on the site today.
