Good day all,

I need help configuring a modem in particular what is the
/etc/gettydefs entry for a 28.8K modem connected to a serial port.
I copied over the M9600 entry and replaced 9600 with 38400:

M38400# B38400 HUPCL CS8 # B38400 SANE IXANY TAB3 HUPCL #login: #M9600

Whenever someone calls in the serial line, the speed drops down to
9600 thus producing a bottleneck. Is there something missing to keep
the line at 38400?

The /etc/inittab entry for this modem is:
        modem:23:respawn:/usr/sbin/getty tty00 M38400 vt100
When M9600 is used there are no problems.

Thanks, I will post a summary.
