I connected a postscript printer (Apple630) to the parallel port of my
ALPHA 255/233. It is working, but it is terribly slow. I suppose it is not
a software problem since I also sent the file to print directly to the port
(/dev/lp0) with an high priority. It takes about 1 hour to print a file of
3.7 mbytes (roughly 1 Kbyte per second). My suspect is that it is not
possible to do better. Am I right? I hope not, otherwise I'll have to
connect the printer to an MS-DOS PC to go faster!!!!!
