Hello,
we have installed some AlphaServer & Workstation with CD-ROM last months
(this year).
The problem is:
when I try to read some CD-ROMs with more than a session (Multisession
mode), I can see only the first one.
I have just call local technical support, and they tell me that there is
a supplementar software (driver ?) to enable this capability.
Is it correct?
I have read your HTML page about CD-ROM drive RRD44/45
"
http://www2.service.digital.com/DECsewp/catalog/cdrom.html" where I see
that they are able to read Multisession disks.
The big doubt is : I have this drive or not? How can I test which drive
is my CD-ROM drive?
This is my Server Configuration:
AlphaServer 400 4/166 (Midi Tower cabinet)
two disks 2 and 4 Gbyte
one CD-ROM drive
This is info about OS:
# uname -a
OSF1 iroe.iroe.fi.cnr.it V3.2 41 alpha
#
I know that there area other (4) AlphaStation in our Institute with the
same problem.
I have sent this request to SEWP Service, but the only answer (help?)
that I have received is this:
"The name I have as the European contact for RRD45 CD-ROM drives is Henry
Smialowski. His phone number is [44]489-882184."
I have no ask for a telephone number; I want to resolve the problem! I
want to read my CDs in Multisessios mode! SIGH!
Thanks in advance
