Problem in creating executable

Hi, everybody,

I am having a strange problem and wonder someone out there might
experience this before.

I am trying to create an executable using normal make utility. In my
home directory, I create an subdirectory including source codes, Ada
library and so on. Whenever I use a name less than 5 characters for the
directory name, I can't get the executable. I tried to use "shore",
"land" and "sfung", and it didn't work. However, if I used
"shore_test", "land_test", "claire" and "stanley", it worked. I also
used "SHORE", but it didn't work neither. I am running OSF/1 2.0 and
Ada compiler version 3.15.

I will appreciate any ideas that can help me to investigate the
problem. Thanks in advance!
