Kernel will not rebuild after Ping Patch (Again, Sorry)

Hello Managers:

We have two AS1000's running in a DECSafe ASE environment. Yesterday I
applied the ping patch to one of the machines with no problems whatsoever.

Today, on the other hand, while repeating the same steps as yesterday, the
operation failed when trying to rebuild the kernel. Following is the error
output that I received. If anyone has encountered a similar problem, or has
any ideas as to what the cause/solution is, please let me know.

Error Output:
# doconfig -c SCORAC

*** KERNEL CONFIGURATION AND BUILD PROCEDURE ***

Saving /sys/conf/SCORAC as /sys/conf/SCORAC.bck

Do you want to edit the configuration file? (y/n) [n]: n

The customized kernel for this machine could not be successfully
created. One possible problem could be kernel layered products
that might be incompatible with the base operating system. This
script will now automatically attempt to build a kernel using the
base operating system only.
Is this ok? (y/n) [y]: n

A new kernel for this machine could not be successfully created.
