I am trying to install Digital Unix 3.2G on a 255/233 that was shipped
with 4.0 on it, in order to match my other Alphas for now. When I
boot from the 3.2G cdrom and choose Advanced Installation, it boots to
the point where it asks which disk to install on. After selecting the
only disk on the system, the internal rz26f, it crashes with the
following:

trap: invalid memory read access from kernel mode

      faulting virtual address: 0x0002b11800000028
      pc of faulting instruction: 0xffffffff800f3d08
ra contents at time of fault: 0xfffffc000040ff98
sp contents at time of fault: 0xffffffff859233f0

panic (cpu 0): kernel memory fault
   syncing disks... done

DUMP: problem with specified dumpdev 0x100001, status 19, not used
DUMP: No primary swap, no explicit dumpdev.
Nowhere to put header, giving up.

   halted CPU 0

   halt code = 5
   HALT instruction executed
   PC = fffffc000040f7d0

So, why does this happen? What am I doing wrong?
