I have sent the following updates to Digital's "Freely Available Software"
page maintainer to update the URL:
http://www.digital.com/info/misc/pub-domain-osf1.txt.html
Not all of the utilities have been updated, but the URLs are now directories
so that they will always get you to the newest versions.

software-name: pak_list
pointer:
ftp://raven.alaska.edu/pub/randy/license_utils/
description: Utility to list Digital License PAK information in another
format. Also useful as a cron job to periodically mail
information to a group of staff about PAKS expiring within
# number of days. Particularily useful for participants of
Digital's TEI program. The Korn shell script break_out_paks.ksh
in the same directory makes individual scripts for loading
and deleting individual paks from Digital's CSLG pak
distribution file.

software-name: proc_info
pointer:
ftp://raven.alaska.edu/pub/randy/proc_info_utils/
description: Displays various information about a selected process:
Resource usage and limits, Signal usage, Environmental
variables, etc... This version will also allow system
managers to dynamically alter resource limits (ulimit/rlimit)
of another process to either the hard limit or unlimited.
Useful for things like daemons and database servers started
from a resource-limited account.

software-name: syd-3.2a
pointer:
ftp://raven.alaska.edu/pub/randy/perf_mon_tools/
description: Updated version of my patched version of syd-3.1-k08 to
provide entire string of argument buffer which is the
entire command line string of the processes. Particularily
useful if running multiple instances of Oracle which
changes all shared server processes to show them to be running
"oracle", now can be shown as "ora_s###_". Also useful for
system administrators of systems where users may execute such
abstracted commands as "/bin/sh -c ./crack /etc/passwd" since
that entire string is displayed. Updated reference page to
reflect these changes also. syd-3.2 only displays the first
string in the argument buffer.
