Remote printers

Hello,

This is my first post to this mailing list, and I know that this is probably a simple question.

I need to set up a remote printer on my DEC-ALPHA running OSF/1 V3.0. I have a Lexmark Optra R printer that I have assigned an IP address. The printer and the DEC have different class C addresses but are connected through frame relay. The Lexmark can be set up so that it has a Hostname and a printer name. I have tried to edit the printcap file and created an spooling directory and created an accounting file and error file and have given ownership to daemon.

This is the printcap entry:

Tech_CO_laser|lp14|lpco|laserco:\
        :lf=/usr/adm/lp14err:\
        :lp=:/dev/null:\
        :rm=tech_dept_ip:\
        :rp=tech_ip:\
        :sd=/usr/spool/lpd14:

I also have this entry in the /etc/hosts file

XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX tech_dept_ip.leesummit.k12.mo.us tech_dept

where XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is the IP address of the printer.

Thanks for the help,
