CDE question - How to get dxbook to open (*reliably*) in given workspace at login

Folks:

I launch several xterms and dxbook at the start of my CDE session via the
$HOME/.dt/sessions/home/dt.session file. Unfortunately, I am unable to get dxbook
to reliably open every time in workspace 1. Sometimes it does, sometimes it
doesn't - without me changing the 'dtsmcmd' line for it all AT ALL! Here is
my line for dxbook:

dtsmcmd -hints "-state IconicState -workspaces \"ws1 \" -cmd \"/usr/bin/X11/dxbook \"" -screen 0 -cmd "/usr/bin/X11/dxbook"

I would appreciate it if some CDE guru could enlighten me on this one.
Also: does anyone know of more detailed documentation about 'dtsmcmd' beyond that
provided in the dtsessionfile manpage?
