Dear SysAdmins,
I run an academic UNIX box (Alphaserver 1000 4/266 running DEC UNIX
3.2c) in
our own domain adam.ac.uk. Now, my problem is this - Our project has
won
a new contract and my boss now wants our server to serve a second domain
of ahds.ac.uk.
My questions are :-
1. Firstly, is it possible for the box to be part of two domains?
2. Do I need a second IP number for it?
3. Can I set up a 'virtual' domain for the second domain? (i.e. the
sort of
thing Internet Service Providers do when they set up your own domain
on
their machines?)
4. If all of this is possible - how the heck do I go about installing
the new domain?
5. What are the key problems here? Is this problem as non-trivial as I
presume?
Any help appreciated; I will of course summarise for the list.
